The story begins in Mondovì, Italy, on 27 October 1970, when the car was purchased new by Mr. Teresio Clerico. The original purchase documentation records a price of 575,000 Italian Lire, providing a wonderful snapshot of the car’s beginnings in Italy more than five decades ago.
Following the passing of Mr. Clerico, the Fiat passed to his wife, Maria Manfredi, in 1974. She remained the registered owner for many years. The accompanying documentation carefully records the family’s changes of address throughout this period, creating an unusually detailed picture of the car’s life.
The annual technical inspection records show that the Fiat was regularly maintained and driven throughout its years with the family. It was not simply stored away as a collector’s object, but remained a genuine part of the family’s life for decades.
The car stayed within the family until 2021, when it was sold to its next owner, who also lived in the same area. During his ownership, the Fiat was used primarily for special occasions and leisurely drives, and was kept safely indoors when not in use.
Today, the car presents itself in exceptionally good condition, both visually and mechanically. It has been carefully preserved and remains a charming and authentic example of the classic Italian city car. The car also has a valid Italian revisione, confirming that it is road legal and ready to be enjoyed.
With its documented ownership history, genuine Italian provenance and long connection to the same family and region, this Fiat 500 offers something increasingly difficult to find: an authentic car with a traceable and fascinating history.
